At Townends Estate Agents we value our people and we are #oneteam working together to achieve success.
We love our people and they love their jobs!
I have worked for Townends Regents for the last 8 years, I came in to the company with no experience starting my career in Woking. After spending around 12 months in the Woking office I was given the opportunity to manage the West Woking office. This was a big step at an early stage of my Townends career but the support and training I had, gave me the confidence and skills needed to start my life as Sales Manager with Townends. Across the past 6 years I have worked in our Sunbury, Staines and Egham offices. This has given me excellent understanding and knowledge of the local area and surrounds which has been a valuable part of my development. My journey is a prime example of how Townends operate; offering all staff the chance to grow and progress their careers, Townends offer excellent support and training and always look to promote from within. Townends is a great place to work and can offer those who apply themselves a real opportunity to progress and work their way up the career ladder.
I have currently been employed with Townends for 9 years and after a short maternity break, the company made a job role available for my needs returning to work as a parent. I have worked in sales, lettings and in a central role in our head office and have been made to feel very welcome in each department. NDA are a very flexible company to work for and are able to respond effectively to your personal needs, it’s like working within a family that wants to help you achieve your goals. The fantastic training seminars keep you on top of the game and progress you to be the best you can be in your career.
I began my career with Townends three years ago, as a Trainee Lettings Negotiator in the Egham office. Coming into the industry with no experience, I had no idea what to expect, but Townends’ training and development programme has been fantastic and has really helped me develop my skills and progress into my current role of Valuation Specialist. Part of my reasoning behind joining Townends was because of the great reputation that they uphold, and also because of their commitment to promoting from within. Within nine months of being at Townends, I was promoted to Senior Lettings Negotiator, where I then won ‘Top Lettings Negotiator’ for two years running. Shortly after, I then stepped into my current role of Valuation Specialist. A prospective candidate can expect to come into a company, where you can choose your own progression path, and whereby you are working with like-minded people on a daily basis.
I have been in lettings now for just over 13 years with over 9 of those years being with Townends making me the longest serving manager. My career in the industry started in SE London but the majority of my career has been in SW & W London. I joined Townends in 2010, as a manager, after my former manager had joined and recommended Townends as a great place to work. Within 9 months of joining Townends as a Senior Negotiator I was quickly promoted to Lettings Manager in one of the busiest offices in Townends which was Putney. I have also worked in Streatham and Chiswick too which has opened up my knowledge in other areas of London. I am now Associate Director of our Northfields office which following the successful acquisition of a local agent with over 1000 properties in their portfolio has seen myself and my team work hard to integrate them successfully into our portfolio. Townends is a great place to work and there are some great people in the organisation. Everyone is friendly and there is a team spirit to collectively do well. With the acquisition by Nick Dunning Associates there is plenty of investment going into the right areas which is really important to me. There is plenty of room for progression here especially with future acquisitions. It is an exciting time to be with Townends and I am proud to be working here.
I joined Townends as a Property Manager, returning to the industry for a different type of challenge, having previously worked as a Sales Negotiator for two and a half years, followed by working in Recruitment and then taking the time to travel. It was a great opportunity to work within the industry I love, whilst accepting a new challenge. I joined the company due to the exciting changes that were taking place within the company, the new acquisitions, and further development of the team which has grown into the fantastic team of people I now work with. I started in the Tenancy Management team focusing on the end of tenancy process whilst building relationships with both Landlords and Tenants. I was then offered the opportunity to move in to the London Property Management team where I now look after two offices and work very closely with the Lettings Managers and Negotiators, to ensure our clients have a main point of contact acting as their “Account Manager”. Growing these relationships and taking ownership over my portfolio is very rewarding and I enjoy the responsibility that comes with this. I work within a fantastic team that is incredibly supportive, and I look forward to monthly one-to-one’s with my Team Leader to discuss any challenges I am facing and to look back at how successful the month has been in regards to KPI’s which really helps me monitor my progress. The new courses that have launched this year continue to provide useful information I use every day and brushing up on existing skills, whilst interacting with other departments and branch staff, meaning there are many different perspectives taken into account at these sessions. I look forward to completing my courses and moving onto the next new challenge within my role as Property Manager. The social aspect of the company means I get to regularly interact with other departments outside of the office, building strong relationships that are imperative to my role. I love being based in our head office where I can liaise easily with other departments I work closely with, including the local branches that come in for various meetings/training.
I joined the company back in 2016 as a Property Manager, from a lettings background in both lettings negotiator and property management level. The company appealed to me because of the size of the business and the large range of areas they cover. From this time I have seen a lot of changes, moving to a new large head office, acquisitions of different companies and being taken over by Nick Dunning Associates. I couldn’t ask for a better team to work with every day, everyone is friendly, willing to help and have a great sense of humour! The company has excellent training facilities and opportunities that lead to a great career progression. I am particularly proud of my recent promotion as the Head of the Tenancy Department.
I have been with the company for the best part of 9 years now. From a personal point I like to have a role involving helping people, so when I first decided I wanted to be an agent I had interviews with many local estate agents but Townends stood out by far as the best choice as they had a good vision and what came across as a fun environment to work – I started as a trainee negotiator with zero experience and over the years I worked my way up to a managerial role, so the progression opportunities are excellent. For anyone thinking of working for the company, expect to work in a professional, hardworking environment where everyone is working towards the same goal of being a successful as possible!
I’m a German / South African who came to the UK along with my family. As per any new Foreigner in a new country you are worried about getting a job and if you will be happy, also will you know what to do and does your experience count? I worked for Vodafone in South Africa in the corporate division and was a Manager in my department. When coming to the UK I started applying for jobs and was contacted by Catherine Darbon who asked me to come along for an interview, at the time with the company called Badger Holdings know known as NDA. Upon arriving at the office I had a lovely lady at reception greet me and start a conversation with me and we got along very well, which of course set me at ease for the interview as I’m a very nervous person when it comes to these things. I joined the company in 2017 as it had an amazing vibe and every one was so helpful, I also thought that I needed a change from Telecommunications and to try my hand at something new. I have only excelled in the company and gain more and more knowledge every day that I work here. The company continues to expand and evolve continuously and has given a lot to the staff working for NDA. We have a benefit system which provides you with so much it’s like going to a sweets shop and you don’t know what to choose from. I think that working for the NDA group was a perfect decision and that any new employee walking into the NDA group will feel welcome and at home.
I first joined Nick Dunning Associates in September 2017 and I have always worked in property and was previously dealing with property repossessions for three years. Working in repressions gave me a great insight into the property world in a different light which you may not always see dealing with everyday properties. The reason I joined the company was the progression and the opportunities that are available as you are able to change departments or roles if feel this is appropriate. I started progressing the Townends pipelines and when Stirling Ackroyd was taken over I had the opportunity to take this on. In taking on Stirling Ackroyd I have dealt with high value properties and had the chance to deal with a wide range of clients. My aim and progression is to build Stirling Ackroyd sales progression team once the amount of properties grows so there is always opportunities to move forward and better yourself. There is a great team vibe within the company and your individual teams. Sales progression and Central Property Services have regular activity days along with an awards afternoon. Having the awards is a great way to motivate you and gives you a great sense of achievement knowing your hard work pays off. I was able to claim two in the last quarterly awards which now pushes me to want to achieve the same next time around. Joining NDA is great for all types of candidates from first time jobs to experienced property experts as everyone receives the same training which gives you a great insight to all areas within the company. The training you receive is something you can take forward and the clients you deal with really appreciate it when you can advise them on all areas of the business from lettings to surveys and finance, the added financial benefit for yourself is great as well.
