Founded in 2014, the Thornton Heath Community Action Team is a group of residents and business who aim to deliver area improving projects. Thornton Heath’s architecture is predominantly Victorian. Two prime examples of this are St Alban’s Anglican Church and St Paul’s Church. St Alban’s Church was built in 1889 and is now a Grade II listed building, it was the first church designed by late Victorian architect Sir Ninian Comper. Another interesting feature of Thornton Heath is the Clocktower. It is located on the junction of the high street and Parchmore Road and was financed partially by public funds in 1990.
