Activities and Entertainment in Putney
Putney has a long history with rowing with more than 20 different rowing clubs making use of the River Thames at Putney Embankment. The highly contested University Boat Race has had its starting point in Putney since 1845. The two crews are set off from a concrete bollard called the University Stone found on Putney Embankment. Notably, Putney is also home to the Head of the River Race which is held annually and attracts large crowds to the area.
Putney locals also have the opportunity to participate in cricket and golf as well as running or walking in one of Putney’s many green spaces.
Culture in Putney
Putney is home to an 8 piece riverside sculpture trail. This was officially unveiled in 2008 and since then has been a notable feature of Putney.

Putney also has use of the Thames Clipper which allows for quick transportation and Putney High Street is 2.5 miles from Battersea Heliport.
