Chiswick is a suburb of West London and part of the London Borough of Hounslow, located on a meander of the River Thames, six miles west of Charing Cross.

Culture in Chiswick

Chiswick was famously home to a number of historical notable people including Alexander Pope, novelist E. M. Forster, poet W. B. Yeats and painter Camille Pissarro. Today Chiswick still boats a famous residential population with some of its most notable residents including the actor Hugh Grant, TV presenter Kate Humble, film director Simon Curtis, actor Colin Firth and model Cara Delevingne.

Chiswick has several interesting landmarks which are rich in their history. Chiswick House dates back to the Jacobean era, it was previously an asylum, but today the house is a Grade I listed building maintained by English Heritage. Chiswick also has several churches each with their own story, the eldest, St Nicholas Church has pasts of its architecture which date back to the 15th Century.
