Woking benefits from excellent transport links with a direct express train service to London Waterloo (approximately 27 minutes) or if you prefer to drive, central London is just 45 minutes away via the M25.

The town boasts an excellent variety of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants and if you’re looking for a family day out, Thorpe Park, Chessington Zoo and Legoland are all within close proximity.

The largest theatre in the region is located in Woking’s town centre – The Ambassadors. The town’s theatres and cinemas host some of the biggest and best shows from the West End and beyond. Touring productions come to the New Victoria Theatre for a week or more, bringing international dance and world-famous opera, grand musicals, international dance and popular family shows. Local productions are staged at the Rhoda McGraw Theatre, whilst the six-screen cinema offers all the latest movies, seven days a week.

Woking’s social and economic transformation in the last century and a half has been dramatic. At the turn of the Millenium, Woking had become a bustling commercial centre with 100,000 residents from many varied backgrounds. It has been a town of substantial reputation since HG Wells produced the first great science fiction novel, War of the Worlds, at the end of the 19^th century.
