Staines is located in the county of Middlesex and provides a slightly slower pace of life compared to London. It is typically home to families, commuters and Heathrow employees.
Whilst Staines town centre is compact, the traffic calming measures that have been put in place over the past few years have made way for a High Street and the Elmsleigh shopping centre which are full of a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. Each Wednesday and Saturday, the pedestrianised High Street hosts one of the biggest street markets in Middlesex.
Those of you who would rather get away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre can easily do so – Windsor Great Park is a great place to go and relax with the family. The reservoirs that have been created around Staines provide a great place for sailing, windsurfing or just generally relaxing on a Summer afternoon. As Staines is located next to the Thames, there is also the opportunity to take lovely riverside walks. The golf courses, national cycle network along the riverside tow path and Thorpe Park theme park mean that there really is something for everyone.
