Shopping in Croydon’s 2.5 million sq. ft of retail space might be preferable to the High Street in South Norwood. However, it does have a selection of banks, coffee houses and some good takeaways.
There are a number of primary schools and two secondary schools in South Norwood, making this town a fabulous location for families.
Norwood Junction train station, Zone 4, is located just off of the High Street. The Southern and London Overground trains from this station run to London Bridge and Dalston Junction. Journey times vary from 10 to 20 minutes to central London depending on whether you catch a fast or slow train. Trains also run throughout the day and night from Selhurst to Gatwick.
South Norwood is also well served by buses going into Central London and a Tramlink service that can take you into East Croydon.

South Norwood is located in the Borough of Croydon and is one of the best value locations in South East London. The properties in the area tend to be Victorian/Edwardian and 1930’s built.
To the south-east of South Norwood is a 125 acre country park which has wild flower meadows, a pitch and put, a children's play ground and designated cycling paths. If you would rather an afternoon on the water, South Norwood Lake is to the north of the town and is home to Croydon Sailing Club. It is also a popular spot for carp, bream and perch fishing and even has a basketball court.
Croydon Sports Arena is located within the South Norwood area. With its eight lane running track, training area for throwing events and home to Croydon football club, this is a great place for budding athletes.
