Ealing is known as ‘The Queen of the Suburbs’ and is made up of seven areas: Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall. Combined they make a vibrant and diverse community which attracts a wide selection of people. The Ealing Borough also offers a wide choice of coffee shops, cafes, restaurants and shopping facilities.

Many of the properties in the area are detached and semi-detached on tree-lined streets. Closer to Ealing Broadway are older and much grander Victorian buildings, often split into apartments. This array of properties makes Ealing a great location for buyers and tenants alike.

Ealing Broadway is currently undergoing a new and exciting development scheme called Dickens Yard, offering over 700 residential homes, new business and leisure premises. Dickens Yard, which is named after the builders' yard that used to occupy the site, will link three of Ealing's Victorian gems – the Town Hall, the Old Fire Station and the parish church of Christ the Saviour – with traffic-free streets lined with boutique shops and cafés. There will be three new public piazzas where markets, street theatre and jazz events can be held. This new development will ensure that cultural life in Ealing, already thriving, will get a welcome boost. The new apartments built above the ground level shops are designed to look out either over the active streets or onto quiet garden terraces.

Ealing is known as one of the greenest boroughs in London. With plenty of open spaces including Walpole, Lammas and Gunnersbury Park it is a popular area for families to reside. During the summer months, Walpole Park is host to The Ealing Summer Festival offering an array of world music and comedy.

The area has always been a popular location for commuters, with its easy access into central London via the Central, District and Piccadilly line, which are served by four underground stations in Zone 3 - Ealing Broadway, North Ealing, South Ealing and Ealing Common. The area is certainly in demand with a fast train into Paddington within 15 mins of Ealing Broadway and the new Cross Rail service currently under construction. For the driver, you have easy access to the North Circular and both the M4 to Heathrow and the West Country and A40/ M40 towards Oxford.

Ealing is also well known for its film studios, which are the oldest in the world. The studios were taken over by the BBC in 1955 so Ealing locations appeared in television programmes ranging from Doctor Who to Monty Python's Flying Circus. These studios have also been used for making films, including Notting Hill and The Importance of Being Earnest and most recently, St Trinian's, a remake of the classic film, was produced there - some locations in Ealing can be observed in this film.

The borough has a high standard of education at state level and also privately, with 65 infant – primary schools and 12 High schools.
