The wide variety of shopping, restaurants, bars and sporting pursuits on offer make Croydon a fabulous place to live for all ages and tastes. Shopping in Croydon is extensive and includes one of the oldest street markets in the country dating back to 1276. The North End is pedestrianised and includes the Whitgif and Drummond shopping centres where you can find all of the usual High Street suspects. For more specialised shops, head to the outlets in Church Street. The Clocktower arts complex in Croydon is a beautiful old Victorian building and houses a cinema, exhibition galleries, a theatre and library. If you are into the arts, the Fairfield Complex is also a good place to visit to see plays, shows, films and concerts.

For sports fans, South Croydon offers the Croydon Sports Arena and Monks Hill Sports Centre as well as a broad variety of other sporting pursuits such as a large number of golf courses, tennis, bowls and much more.

Croydon is located close to an abundance of green belt land so there is no shortage of parks and green spaces for the whole family to enjoy. In June, Croydon holds its own carnival week which promises a great day out for all.

Both East and West Croydon (Zone 5) have train links direct to London, Gatwick and the South Coast. The Tramlink also links Croydon to Wimbledon.

Croydon is located in South London and is one of the largest and most popular boroughs. Due to its strategic placement between London and Gatwick, it has become a popular commuter town for buyers and tenants wanting more space but still close to the action of London. Property prices tend to be a little cheaper to that of central London which is also a big factor in the desirability of the area.

Croydon offers everything from conversion flats and purpose built apartments to Victorian and 1930s semis, terraces and a number of large detached houses. The most sought after and expensive areas to live are South and East Croydon.
