Due to the new entertainment and retail complex being developed, Aldershot is an up and coming area. Located conveniently within the town centre, the new complex will give people somewhere to shop, eat and relax. It will include many large chain restaurants/take-away outlets, a new cinema and a large supermarket.
During the summer months, the lido in Aldershot is a great place for the whole family. This open air pool has an extensive shallow area for young children to play, a large fountain, a diving area and waterslides. For the colder months, there is an indoor swimming pool next door, allowing the public to swim all year round.
Aldershot has plenty of sports to see and do. From going to watch the local football team, to watching or getting involved with the local cricket, hockey or running club, there is something for everyone. Perhaps Rugby appeals more to you? If so, Aldershot has a Rugby Union Club which won the RFU “Seal of Approval” Club in 2008 for the south. Those with more of a passion for motor sports will also not be disappointed – short circuit motor sport takes place at the Aldershot Raceway.
The train and bus station are both located off Station Road. There is a mainline train link to London Waterloo which takes approximately 45 minutes, with trains running roughly twice per hour. The bus caters for the local area very well and also includes many services to surrounding towns such as Guildford, Camberley and Farnborough.

Aldershot is situated in Hampshire on the Surrey border. Whether you are buying or renting, properties in the area are very good value for money and often it is possible to achieve more for your money in this location than the surrounding towns. Homes in this area tend to have character features and there are a scattering of Victorian style properties.
Aldershot has been an army town since 1854 during the Crimean War, however the Military Town is separate from Aldershot town centre and even has its own military jurisdiction. Each year the town plays host to the Garrison Show (formally the Aldershot Military Tattoo) which is one of the largest military events in the UK.
